PhotoPodium is guided by Mr. Danilov’s desire to present Art for the Sake of Peace. As an international forum, PhotoPodium provides professional, undiscovered and evolving photographers from around the world an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and exhibit their work.
In the spirit of learning and sharing, PhotoPodium is open to photographers of all ages, nationalities and skill levels. Regardless of subject or style, artists have the freedom to submit works of any type and contribute to Mr. Danilov’s vision to build a space where the art of photography helps bring people together and create a global community.
Expanding on this theme, PhotoPodium encourages artists to share comments among each other and choose their favorites. For outstanding work, PhotoPodium jurors may award artists an “Editor’s Choice” and/or “Professional’s Choice” commendation. Most notably, several times each year, PhotoPodium selects among its best works for exhibition in places such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Copenhagen, New York, and Washington, D.C. As PhotoPodium expands, so does its plans for countries of exhibition. Exhibition themes are intentionally varied and include travel, religion, architecture, nature and love. These various themes of exhibition are unified in their principle to bring photographic art to new and wider audiences.
PhotoPodium was created by Viktor Danilov. Born in the Georgian Republic of the former Soviet Union, he now lives in the USA, outside New York City. As an artist and photographer, Mr. Danilov appreciates photography as an art form and popularizes it as such. Through the selection of best works, gallery-quality prints, and exhibitions, PhotoPodium presents a positive argument to the ongoing discussion of photography as art. Furthering this role through the forum, PhotoPodium aspires to deliver a unique personal vision of each artist and a reflection of desire for peace in the world.
PhotoPodium is most grateful for the support of Yuri Bratukhin, whose expert skills as a web designer and programmer make PhotoPodium possible. Through his efforts, PhotoPodium has become a website that manages a wealth of users and information, yet is easy to navigate.
